On October 2021, Gerfaut completed a first successful air-analysing campaign for the Region Grand-Est and a laboratory of the French CNRS.

Designed by UrWingS, the integration on board Gerfaut 01 Aircraft was fully operative and safe.

The Project was to analyse air-particles on wide areas with a PICCARO sensor, a brand-new technology device allowing extremely precise air-measures. During the campaign’s week, the teams of UrWingS, Gerfaut and the scientists of the CNRS worked together to set-up this innovating mission, as well to tune the technical integration of the sensor, as for the processes in flight and on ground to certify the measurements.

The results of this campaign revealed the presence of several very unsuspected pollutions, allowed to target the sources, and were able to describe with precision the air-composition on very large volumes. This great success confirmed the interest of this kind of missions and opened the way of many other campaign for the Gerfaut Company in the coming years.
